Google now has open their door just like Twitter to allow the use of an established pseudonyms, This almost like an introspection and following the foot steps of Twitter. The current scenario indicating the triumph win of Twitter and Google over the Facebook in the Nymwars. However, the Facebook took a stubborn attitude towards the use of an established pseudonyms. Facebook apparently seems to be looser in the Nymwars. Even so at the end of the story who is the real winner is really mattered.
The main stream social media are supporting the use of the pseudonyms, but Facebook has taken stiff action against it. Facebook advocating that this is not the proper way to express oneself and freedom of expression and speech. This is after all a social medium to interact with your friends or fans, so why do you need a fake identity?
There are lots of controversies out there regarding the use of pseudonyms but the fact is still behind the curtains, whether it's good or bad is an issue. However, as a user of these social media we will give prime importance to the accountability of page. For example, "Lady Gaga," this only her stage name not her real name, when she creates a profile in Facebook she should go for her genuine name ( Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta ) , not with her stage name( Lady Gaga). If they want to accommodate people from all walks of life to their friend / Follower list, they should create a fan page in Facebook, so others can easily follow them. In Twitter and Google Plus she can create her profile in her stage name ( Lady Gaga) itself because she is popular. But a lay man can't create a profile in his or her nickname or pen name, is that fair? Google and Twitter making two kinds of citizens by implementing this policy, so normal citizen can't tolerate it. Why don't they treat everyone as equal? So we truly believe the genuine user don't support this dumb movement !!!
Hey, watch out policy breakers, you may lose your profile.
Many social media managers creating Facebook ID's by the name of companies or groups for managing Facebook pages. They are knowingly or unknowingly creating these profiles. Even so, this is a violation of Facebook's policies. Famous social media mangers all do the same thing they create fake profile or identity to manage pages. If Facebook finds such violations in their policies, they will delete / suspend those profiles. We are really amused to see that the so called "Top " social media managers still violating the policies, are they not aware about this? !!!
Nymwar is a conflict regarding the users of the internet should use the real name. They began in July 2011 when the social networking site Google+ began enforcing its real name only policy by suspending the accounts of users it felt were not following the policy. The term is a neologism, coined from "pseudonym" and appears to have gained prominence as the hashtag "#nymwars" onTwitter.
